Walk Through Your Home Before It's Built

Getting started is simple. We use a PDF copy of your architectural drawings containing floor plans and elevations and project it onto the floor of our studio at a real-life 1:1 scale. This means what you see on your plans is what you'll see accurately represented at our studio!

Most clients prefer to start their lifesize walkthrough without any staging furniture out on the floor, so they can get an overview of their plans. When ready, staging furniture and foam walls are brought out to simulate your new space.

This allows you to physically experience your project and receive invaluable insights while reviewing your plans. This type of feedback wouldn't be available until your project was already completed, until now!

Walking your plans before your designer finalizes your architectural drawings for building permit application is the best time. But anytime before construction starts would allow you to realize the full benefits of a life-size walk through!

All you'll need is a scaled PDF of your architectural drawings preferably with some dimensions shown.

 

You can also submit additional media to view during your walkthrough including:

• JPEG, PNG, etc. of renderings
• Mood boards
• Videos

Please send all files at least 24 hours prior to the start of your appointment. 

Our studio can accommodate a 2,100 square foot image on the floor (35' x 60') and a 17' x 30' image on the wall. Larger plans can adjusted in seconds to move through each section of the building! 

There is no limit to the size and number of plans you can view during your session. We've had plans as small as 200 square feet and as big as 17,000 square feet!

To get the maximum benefit from your session, having your design and construction team attend would be ideal. The projection studio not only helps owners better understand their proposed design, it also allows design professionals to view the project from an entirely new perspective — which typically only happens after construction has already started!

However, if you prefer to come by yourself our experienced design consultant will be available to assist you throughout your session! This way you can get a real feel for how you'll use your space without any distractions or pressure. 

We have a variety of furniture available for you to use during your walkthrough including:

• Foam Walls
• Foam Kitchen Cabinets
• Foam Appliances (Washer, Dryer, Oven, Refrigerator, Dishwasher)
• Adjustable Dining Room Table
• Beds
• Toilet & Freestanding Bathtub
• 3-Seat Sofa
• Occasional Chairs

All furniture is on wheels and easy to move, so you can experiment different layouts & get a real feel for your space! If you have specific furniture in mind for your new home or office and you know the dimensions, let us know before your session and we can easily add it to your plans in any rooms you request.

Absolutely! Our experienced design consultant will keep notes of any changes and can redline your PDF so you can see changes in real-time. All notes will be sent electronically to you after your walkthrough. 

 

Design professionals who visit our studio are able to connect their laptop into our integrated system via USB-C to view models and plans directly from their own software.  

Whole home walkthroughs start at $749. If you're unsure of how long of a session you should book, please don't hesitate to reach out. We'd be more than happy to discuss the details of your project and recommend an appropriate booking length for you!

The length of a walkthrough varies by project size and complexity. Generally, plans up to 1,000 sq.ft. are completed in less than 1.5 hours, plans up to 3,000 sq.ft. are completed in less than 2 hours, and projects up to 6,000 sq.ft. are completed in about 2.5 hours.
